Here are a few older photos of my home decor.
Morrocan Pattern painted backsplash. We couldn't afford tile so I used a wall stencil and Martha Stewart glazes to create my own.
My dining room. Mirror from Amazon (knock off of Ballard Designs version). Table from Haverty's. Table Runners Etsy. Plates are Lennox (found on clearance table 18 plates for $18!!! They don't match but worth the savings). I'm in the process of updating the chandelier with crystals and shades. Napkin rings are Pier 1. Rugs are seagrass from Pottery Barn. Stencil on back wall is gold metallic paint using a stencil from cuttingedgestencils.com
Chandelier over my kitchen island. It is a knock off of the Pottery Barn version, bought at overstock.com

Do you still have the link to the mirror you bought on amazon? It is GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteIt's a Bassett Mirror, bronze finish. You have to buy the sections separately (1 arch, 2 rectangles). Mine was bought from Target through Amazon, but it doesn't look like they still carry it, only wayfair does. Make sure if you order that damage is covered, one of my panels arrived broken. But they promptly replaced it.

After I posted I realized that seller was very pricey, here is another: http://www.amazon.com/Bassett-Mirror-Living-Isabelle-Rustic/dp/B001TKT3RG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1345569529&sr=8-3&keywords=bassett+mirror+bronze

I LOVE your kitchen backsplash!! Do you have a tutorial on how you did this...the technique, colors you used, etc. I really want to do this in my kitchen. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a tutorial because the day I decided to paint it I literally grabbed left over cans from my paint supplies and some paper towels and went to town! It was accomplished with Martha stewart glazes (premixed plastic jars in charcoals, golds, silver and some valspar precious metals in gold. Martha Stewart is from Home depot, valspar from Lowes. I really just blended everything using a wad of paper towels until it looked decent. My original wall color was Sherwin Williams Pacer white. The stencil is from cuttingedgestencils.com. I did figure out that if you sponge on the colors, then go back with a shiny glaze and "swirl" on that color in small circular patterns, you get more of a tile look than the splotchy paint effect. The stencil color was a bronze metallic color from Martha stewart metallics (in the cans, not the plastic premixed jars)
DeleteThanks! I am heading out and buying some paint to give this a try! Hope mine comes out as beautiful as yours!! Love your blog...many great ideas!
